When discussing folk metal, there seems to be a couple different sounds a band can have. There are those that go for the upbeat, humppa style that can put a smile on the darkest of all metalheads, and there is the grim, earthy style that embodies one’s heritage. It can be mixed with black, power, thrash, death; just about any style of metal, and still come out sounding fresh and inspiring. Here is my new playlist featuring that new subgenre that is sweeping the metal world, folk!

How could you create a folk metal playlist and exclude Finntroll?! I'm pretty impressed you have Windir and Svartsot though.
Well I wanted to limit myself to 10 bands on these playlists. I love Finntroll, especially Ur Jordens Djup and Nattfodd. I'm glad you like the list, have you checked out the others?
Yep, I'm working my way through each and every one. Please keep them coming, there aren't a whole lot of ways to find new metal!
I am glad you are enjoying them. I am always working towards putting new music out there. Make sure to comment on everything you like and tell your friends about the site, because I envision this in the future as a bigger site, not just a blog!
